Emmalynn,
You are a few days shy of 14 months old. I have got to get better with documenting your little life because you are getting so funny!
At 14 months you are:
-Wearing 12 months clothes
-size 4 diaper
-size 4 shoe... You have fat little feet!
-you have TEN teeth right this minute and at least two more trying to pop through. Ibuprofen is our best friend!
-you are quite the motor mouth. You can say the following word:
-Dow (dog)
- hi, hey, hello and bye bye
- momma, dada, bee dada (big daddy), poppa, gama or sometimes dama
- no-no
- hot-hot
- nay-ne (laney the dog) Duce, the dog
- Elmo
- Dara (Dora)
- jase and oooora
- pad pad (iPad)
- shhhh
- juice
- mamelon (watermelon)
- Shhhhoe
- duck
- moooo
- wower (flower)
- oh wow
I'm sure there are many words I'm missing. You try and repeat EVERTHING so many words don't exactly come out :)
- you are OBSESSED with the iPad. You can turn it on, swipe the button and pick what apps you want to play. It is seriously mind blowing. Just the other day, you downloaded a Dora app on daddy's iPad. Lol.
- you can point to your nose, toes, eyes, ears, belly and sometimes booty. Haha :)
- you are So funny. You keep us in stitches!
- you eat all table foods now but, you're picky...you won't eat pasta, meat or cheese. You love your fruits and veggies! Your fav foods are watermelon and pancakes!
- you LOVE to be outside. You help daddy with anything that needs to be done outside.
- I'm sad to say you still get a night night bottle. We are working on it but, you are still attached.
- you also love bath time. Anything to do with water, really.
- you are so sweet to your stuffed animals. You carry them around everywhere and pat them
On their backs and love on them. It is so adorable!
- your favorite shows are Dora, Mickey Mouse, doc mcstuffins and phineas and ferb.
- you aren't a momma or daddy's girl specifically. You want each of us at certain times.
You are such a joy. We are so in love with you!

One year old!!!!
I do not update nearly as much as I should but, you are now ONE big year old! I simply so not know where the time goes. Emmalynn, you are the greatest blessing in our lives. No words could ever be enough to express how much we love you. You are sassy, bossy, funny, full of personality, sweet as pie and SO smart! I can not get over how smart you are. I hope you are always as bright as you are now. You will move mountains, that's for sure. We love you so much, princess. This has by far been my favorite age and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!

7 month Princess!
Our sweet girl is now over half a year old. I've always heard parents say "don't blink" or "they grow up so fast" and have found it a little obnoxiously over used. But now I fin myself telling all new moms the same thing. It really is heart wrenching to think of how fast it all happens. I could have sworn we were just decorating a nursery :) On a less sappy note, my little princess is a WILD one. She is all over the place and her little personality is really starting to shine. She keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing at the same time! She hasn't mastered crawling yet and honestly, I don't think she will. I think she will skip crawling and go straight to walking. Don't let her fool you though- she gets around just fine. She scoots on her hiney to get around. I can put her down and in less than 60 seconds she is across the room. She's also pulling up on EVERYTHING! She wants to stand all the time. She is such a happy baby. She loves her family and our close friends and will even pick random people to reach out to. She laughs constantly and is such a motor mouth! Her AUnt Jen always says she has such good vocal skills.
Here are some of the other things you are up to:
-you went to the doctor this week and were right at 19 pounds.
-you are in mostly 9 month clothes but if it runs small, you can even wear a 12 month occasionally. Big girl!
- you love your veggies! Squash is your favorite and you do not like peas or avocado.
-you are still breast feeding and mommy is making your baby food.
-you will start fruits this week.
-you still say mama but you've really been stuck on dada lately. You also said oora several times for aunt Noora. So sweet.
-You love bath time.
- you have 2 bottom teeth and Dr. Carlile says your top 2 are coming through (which is why you won't sleep well)
- around 4am you like to get in bed with mommy and snuggle. I LOVE it but really need to break the habit.
- you light up every afternoon when daddy comes home. You sure do adore him.
You are such a good baby and a joy to everyone. We love you do much little angel and can't wait to see what these next few months have in store for your busy self!

6 months!
My sweet princess Emmalynn,
You are such a joy to everyone around you. You are an easy going, HAPPY, busy baby! Your daddy and I are so lucky that we were chosen to be your parents. You are growing so fast that it makes mommy sad. You are such a smart and inquisitive little girl. I love you so much.
Here are some things you are doing at six months old:
You are still on mommy's milk but starting vegetables and love green beans.
You have been rolling around for months now.
You sit up all by yourself and have been since a week or so before you turned 5 months old.
You can wave hi and bye bye.
You can say mama and dada.
You have one tooth and the second is breaking through.
You are 18 lbs 5 oz and 27 1/4 inches long. That is 90th percentile for weight and 95th for height....you're a big girl!
You love your Grammy and big daddy and laney and Sophie too!
You definitely recognize those you're around most like your "aunties" Holly, Jennifer, Lara and Laura. They love you so much and it means the world to me!
You love to stand. I think you will walk early.
You always want someone in the room with you and don't like to be alone.
You haven't been sleeping well the last week or do because of your teeth but before that you were still waking up to nurse about twice in 12 hours.
You just had your first illness. Daddy was out of town and it was very tough on mommy.
You love to cuddle and it gets me everytime :)
How does this even happen?

20 weeks, 5 days!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 20 weeks!!! We are half way there!!!!
Size of baby: Babycenter.com says: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana.
However, our little girl is a whopping 13 ounces this week!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 7 pounds!
Maternity Clothes: I wear some maternity and some regular clothes!
Gender: It's a GIRL!
Movement: All. the. time. This little girl is so active! Just like her daddy!
Sleep: Still not sleeping well. I think it's the Lord preparing me for a child, before I was pregnant I LOVED to sleep and could sleep through anything! Not so much anymore.
What I miss: Sleep.
Cravings: No one thing. Just food in general. :)
Symptoms: Same ole stuff.
Best Moment this week: Our 20 week ultrasound! We saw our sweet baby girl and everything looked perfect!

17 weeks, 3 days!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 17 Weeks
Size of baby: Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 2 pounds!
Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and I think they are the best thing since sliced bread :)
Gender: It's a GIRL!
Movement: Not much yet, but I have felt her.
Sleep: Not so good. I'm still waking up 2-3 times a night to tinkle.
What I miss: Nothing really! (Ok, maybe I miss margaritas just a tiny bit.)
Cravings: Most of the time, nothing. I've just now gotten my appetite back. But, I am loving sherbert!
Symptoms: Other than poor sleeping, nothing that is blog appropriate :)
Best Moment this week: Well, nothing too exciting has happened this week. But, last week was definitely a highlight getting to see our baby and hear her heartbeat! And, finding out she is a GIRL! She is one very active little girl too, she would NOT be still the first 5 or 6 minutes of the ultrasound!
And, a baby bump picture :)

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Double with a baby carriage :)
Warning....this is 3 months worth of jibberish.
So, as all of you know...We are expecting our first child in early August.I will try to get better about posting here to keep you updated on the baby. First, I will catch you up to date. We always said we would start trying to concieve on our first wedding anniversary. Well, that's what we did and much to our surprise, the very next month we concieved! I read in a book that I have that it takes 80% of couples 6 months or more to concieve! God truly blessed us and I thank him every single day for trusting me to carry and raise this child. I hope I don't let the Big Guy down :)
So, I found out on December 3rd that we were going to be parents. I was home alone, actually. Double was working at the fire station and I just thought I would take a home pregnancy test. Strange, because the only real sign of pregnancy that I had was that I was craving jalapenos....on EVERYTHING! It kind of grosses me out now but, that's what I wanted. Double was scheduled to work his 24 hour shift and leave first thing in the morning to go to drill in Troy. (I hated those weekends!) Meaning, I wouldn't get to see him until he got home Sunday night! I didn't want to tell him over the phone so, I decided I would go to his parent's house in Elba Saturday afternoon so I could see him when he got there after drill! This was also game day for Auburn. So, he gets there and pays me no attention, as the game is on. So, I call him into the bedroom and tell him I have a present for him. His immediate response: "But babe, the game is on." Typical. I tell him, you are definitely going to want to open this. He opened his gift and I had wrapped a baby girl and baby boy outfit that both said I love my daddy along with all 8 (yes, eight) pregnancy tests I had taken so far. (That's nothing, I think the total # of tests taken was around 18. ha...I just couldn't believe it!) I had never seen him so happy. Definitely one of the best days of our lives.
So, I went in that Monday to do a blood test which confirmed we were pregnant and scheduled my first appointment. Our first appointment was December 20th and I have to say, I was disappointed. I thought I would get my first ultrasound and begged my Doctor to let me have one. Luckily, he is a miracle worker and squeezed me in to come that Thursday, the 23rd for our first picture of Baby Dodd! It was THE most amazing thing I have ever seen and it's heartbeat was breath taking. I could not believe there was a tiny little human forming.
Our next appointment was at 11 weeks and we got to see the baby again! I had a small "bleed" on my uterus and they wanted to check to see if everything was ok. God is good. Not signs of anything wrong and it closed up all on its own! Baby was measuring 3 days ahead (as it did the first ultrasound) The Doctor said even if the bleed had not healed on it's own, it wouldn't have been anything to worry about. I'm just glad we didn't have to worry about it. Here is a pic of Baby Dodd at 11 weeks!

So at the 11 weeks appointment, we scheduled our early Gender scan for 16 weeks! Those 5 weeks may have been the longest of my life. But, on February 23rd, we saw that precious baby once again and discovered that Baby Dodd is a GIRL! I am over the moon excited! Double was a little nervous at first but, he is definitely just as thrilled about his "little buddy" as he like to call her. We already had names picked out and decided on Emmalynn Jane for our baby girl. Here is her picture at 16 weeks and 4 days!

It's a GIRL!
Please keep us and Emmalynn in your prayers. Pray that she continues to grow and develop just as she should and stays put until at least 37 weeks :)
Also, pray for a dear, sweet friend of mine who is also preparing to bring a child into this world. She and her husband are preparing to adopt and can bring a baby home at anytime! They are going to be wonderful parents and I am thrilled that are children will be close in age!
